Fractional CO₂ Laser Technology at Elyzea
Ablative laser with precision micro-columns — 10,600 nm for deep rejuvenation
Fractional CO₂ laser is the gold standard for deep scars, pronounced wrinkles, and global skin renewal. Unlike traditional CO₂ lasers that treated the entire surface (full resurfacing, 2+ weeks of recovery), fractional creates columns of vaporized tissue with healthy skin between them — this accelerates healing and reduces recovery to 5–7 days without sacrificing power.
Technical data
| Wavelength | 10,600 nm (CO₂) |
| Target chromophore | Intracellular water |
| Type | Ablative fractional (vaporizes micro-columns) |
| Adjustable depth | Up to 4 mm in deep zones |
| Microcolumn density | Adjustable: 5–40% coverage per zone |
| Certifications | FDA (USA), CE (Europe), DIGEMID (Peru) |
| Indications | Acne scars, deep wrinkles, sun spots, photoaging, stretch marks |
| Safe phototypes | I–III primarily. IV with caution; V–VI consider alternatives (picosecond) |
| Downtime | 5–7 days of redness and peeling |
Why it's irreplaceable for certain cases
Reachable depth
Up to 4 mm — remodels deep dermis. Non-ablative lasers don't reach this depth and can't produce the same effect on pronounced scars.
Fractional pattern
Healthy skin between micro-columns speeds reepithelization — from 2+ weeks (full CO₂) to 5–7 days (fractional) with equivalent results.
Durable results
New collagen replaces aged tissue. Effects last years with sun protection.
Adjustable density
Fine parameters per zone and goal: more coverage for severe scars, less in delicate zones.
How it's used
Topical anesthetic applied 30 minutes before. Dra. Geldres configures:
- ✦ Depth per zone (deeper on scars, shallower in thin areas like eye contour)
- ✦ Microcolumn density (5–15% for maintenance, 20–40% for severe scars)
- ✦ Number of passes (1–3 depending on target intensity)
Post-treatment: intense redness 1–3 days, peeling 4–7 days, luminous new skin from day 8. Results continue improving for 3–6 months as new collagen forms.
