HIFU Technology at Elyzea
Medical-grade equipment with multi-depth cartridges — Ultherapy, Doublo, and variants
HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a technology, not a brand. The equipment executing it determines precision, comfort, and outcome. Medical HIFU systems (Ultherapy, Doublo, and others) share the physical principle but differ in available cartridges, energy ranges, and control software. At Elyzea we use systems with multi-depth cartridges (1.5 mm, 3.0 mm, 4.5 mm) operated under Dra. Geldres's supervision.
Technical features
| Technology | High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) |
| Frequency | 4–10 MHz depending on cartridge |
| Treatment depths | 1.5 mm (superficial dermis), 3.0 mm (deep dermis), 4.5 mm (SMAS) |
| Coagulation temperature | 60–70 °C point-specific (thermal microcoagulation) |
| Visualization | Real-time ultrasound imaging on some systems (Ultherapy) |
| Typical zones | Face, neck, jowls, abdomen, arms, thighs |
| Session duration | 30–90 minutes depending on zones |
| Downtime | Zero (resume activities immediately) |
Differences vs alternatives
Multi-depth cartridges
Treat SMAS + deep dermis + superficial dermis in the same session. Single-depth devices limit the result.
Real-time visualization
Some systems let the operator see the layer being treated — improving precision in patients with complex anatomy.
Precise intensity control
Fine energy increments adjustable to patient phototype and tolerance. Uncertified devices have coarser ranges.
International certifications
FDA, CE, and local registries for genuine medical equipment. Different from spa devices marketed under similar names.
How we use it at Elyzea
Dra. Geldres configures each session defining depths by zone: typically 4.5 mm on the jawline and neck (for deep SMAS tightening), 3.0 mm on cheeks and forehead (for dermal remodeling), and 1.5 mm selectively in superficial zones like eye contour. Shot density is adjusted to laxity and phototype.
No generic protocols. Each patient receives a shot map designed for their case, documented in the clinical chart for reproducibility across future sessions.
